  1. money and d**n good talent behind the wheel

  2. Well I'm not sure how old you are, but I have just recently been wanting to do the same thing become a professional race car driver and here is what people have told me. You need to check nearby for local tracks (You can do that on NASCAR.com). Look for the series and types of races they run there (Legends, Bandoleros, Karts, Super Late Models, etc.). Then go down and watch those races, buy a pit-pass, learn all you can about building cars, fixing them and how they work. Just talk to people until you understand as much as you can about racing. Then you would want to buy a bandolero, legend car, or kart depending on your age and get seat time practice it until you fell comfortable racing it. If you do not have the money to get your own I suggest racing schools that will help you learn the fundamentals of racing or buying a race car used. Most importantly save your money or get a job (You're going to need a lot of money.)

  3. Less time here, more time at the track driving.

  4. Buy a street stock or a mini stock, find a track near you with a Nascar sanction, and go racing. When you fill out the paper work for your race entry, Nascar gives you a license. Presto, you just became a Nascar driver.
