Hi, I'm 17 and I am studying Psychology at college at the moment. I have decided that when I leave college I would like to become a Psychology lecturer in colleges in the UK. What exactly do I need to do to reach my goal? I've had a look on the internet but most of it is about how to become a teacher in schools. As I also enjoy Sociology would it be a good idea for me to study Sociology at uni aswell as Psychology or should I just stick to Psychology?

  1. You could study both psychology and sociology, as that would enable you to teach both later on (therefore, better chance of getting a job). What you need to do is do your bachelor degree, and then do a PGCE (post-graduate certificate of education). It's the same as if you wanted to teach for a secondary school.
