  1. First go online to the post office website.  USPS.Gov.  Then look at where the postal exams for the position you wish to fill is going to take place.  It will have the date and location of the exam.  If you pass the exam they will notify you within 6-8 weeks.  You are then placed on a waiting list and your position on the list will be decided by your score on the exam.  Once selected you will go thru an interview process, drug and medical screening, etc.

    Good luck

  2. What your first responder said :o)  Though, a word of caution, sometimes it takes YEARS for them to get back to you.  That's what happened to my step-brother ... it took them 4 years to get back to him, and he's just a sub for now.  But if you can get your foot in the door and get by on just being a sub, then you're in for good.  He said it takes a year to get benefits, but they are excellent.  This is in Ohio, but since it's a federal job I would think it's the same everywhere.

    Good Luck!

  3. Every now and then they give tests, and if you pass the test, you are put on a waiting list. But don't hold your breath waiting. A guy who I used to work with passed the test, and they did NOT offer  him  a position until 7 years later.
