What do I have to do to leave Scotland for an hour or two and then come back and get on my plane?

Im going to go to Scotland from India, then from there to America...but I want to tour Scotland,

I am an American Citizen...

you'll have to schedule two different flights, so that you arrive in scotland and stay until your other flight is ready.

as a US citizen you can enter the UK as a visitor for up to 6 months ... you would just need to arrange your flights according to how long you would want to stay
