What do I need for going out of USA?

I am 17 years old and flying to Germany for the first time. Do I need anything other than a passport? Do i have to have my parents sign something allowing me to go? I booked the plane ticket under 'adult,' is that wrong? I need help, thanks! :)

A visa you need (Schengen visa). if you do not have you also cannot check in at the airport

no problem.  when you get to the airport and check your passport and realize you're underage, they won't let you board.  yes, you need parental permission.
