Not too long ago I bought me some subwoofers in a box and an amp.

I didnt have a cd player to hook them up, but now i just bought one from a private seller.

I know pretty much what wires I need to hook up my subs but I dont know what the back of the CD player is supposed to look like to know if I can hook up my subs.

So can someone talk me through exactly what I need to know about the cd player I got. Its a Pioneer DEH-P2500 if that helps.

  1. You just have to run RCA cables from the amp to the jacks on the back of the head unit.  If the head unit doesn't have RCA jacks on it you will need to use the high level inputs on the amp instead with it hooked in parallel with the rear speakers or if it doesn't have high level inputs you will need a level converter to go from the rear speaker wires to the RCA jacks on the amp.

  2. You will need RCA cables to run from the head unit to the amp--they're what carries the signla. You will also need a remote turn on wire which runs from the head unit to the amp as well--this wire turns on the amp when your stereo is turned on. If you go to www.etronics.com you can find kits that will have everything you need. Look at this link. These kits will have everything you need including the power wires too:
