  1. You need to be able to download your camera to your PC, if your camera is a minidv (cassette) you will need a firewire connection, if it's mini DVD, then you will have to finalize and then convert so your PC cam read them, if you are using and old VHS camcorder then you will need an analog converter, if the camera is an HD then you can use USB, once your video is on your computer then you can edit, ad transitions, music with your video editing software. You can use WMM, but I prefer pinacle studio 11 ultimate but I'm sure you will get some good sugestions for software.

  2. You'll need editing software. Adobe premiere pro works great if you've got the money. ($500) Make sure your computer is fast and can support the minimum requirements of your editing software. 2+ ghz and 1gb of ram should be sufficient although more is better. If you want to do a really nice job, you will need some lights and a basic understanding of how they work, but you can use cheap lights (the one painters and plumbers use, you don't need the expensive ones that cost thousands) Last time I did a voice over I ran a Karoke machine into my PC and it worked fantastic! Good luck. If you have any more questions go to my website, www.cwprods.com and contact me. :-) I'm still in school  too so don't hesitate to contact me.

  3. well if you do voiceovers then you're gonna want a good microphone with a pop screen.  Also you'll need editing software.  Premier Elements and Premiere Pro are great for a beginner.
