What do I need (polarizer? UV filter?) to cut haze in mountain photos?

The camera can "see" haze that the eye cant. The scene looks clear to me, but my mountain photos turn out hazy. What do I need to reduce the haze?

  1. HI there,

This will be rather short....  but did you know that there actually are HAZE filters?    I have a few of them and they seem to do the trick.   Try checking for Haze filters from Tiffen or Hoya.

Thanks for reading and I hope it helps.

  2. Uv would cut haze, polarizer would pull in clouds and cut down reflections. You'd lose about a stop on the polarizer. You could use them both, if you want.
