What do I need to connect RGB cable to TV?

I have a VGA to RGB male cable and It seems that it doesn't work on my TV which only has Video Input Yellow and Audio Red White...how can I connect the cable to my TV?

  1. It sounds like your tv is only SD and not HD. They do make an adaptor cable that goes from vga to composit video. This cable does not carrry any sound information though and you would have to run separate audio cables from your sound out jack to the tv. The main problem you face though is that your tv is at 480i and will not display the computer resolutions as anything viewable. This cable was basically designed to run an ega or cga monitor from a vga card. To use your tv the way you would like to will require a vga to composit converter which costs a lot of money or buy a different video card for your computer that has regular composit video out.


  2. The yellow RCA jack is composite video, and the red/white are stereo audio.  If your computer has S-video you could get a cable for that to composite.  But otherwise you would need a VGA to composite converter device and VGA set to 640x480.

    While that might be okay for videos or gaming, you would be disappointed using that TV as a computer monitor.
