  1. To give a little more detail you need a cable with an 1/8" stereo plug on one and and two RCA plugs on the other end. This cable will patch the line level audio output from your computer to an input on your receiver. You can use almost any unused input for the purpose. I happen to use my MD/Tape input but any unused input will do.

  2. You can connect with one of these http://www.radioshack.com/sm-philips-3-5... for straight stereo, if you want surround sound you will need to connect it with a digital cable from your sound card (if it outputs surround)

  3. You can connect the oudio out (green mini plug) to a line-level input of your receiver. Line level is tape, CD, aux. If you are lucky your sound card has an SP/DIF or optical (toslink) output which makes the connection better quality.

If your graphics card has a composite video (yellow) s-video (round miniplug) or component video, you should be able to connect video as well. Cable lengths over 6 ft are not recommended.
