What do I need to do go hunting?

I have always been interested in hunting, and now that I am 19 i want to go hunting, but i dont know how to get ready for hunting. I live and Massachussetts. What identifications do i need? i think that i need a license to carry a firearm (FID???) and also are there any classes i need to take? thank you all for your help.

Alot of it will depend on what your planning to hunt and in what season. no matter what your gonna need to take hunters safty classes (atleast thats the way it is in michigan). They should tell you alot bout what you need to do and get in hunters safty class.

Most states require a hunter safety course thru fish and game.

Then, a license, and a tag for the animal you are hunting.  A good firearm, of sufficient caliber to humanely harvest the animal you are after. A good hunting knife, and most important, an experienced hunter to take you under their wing and teach you.
