I'm 5'3 and weigh 105 lbs and am going into High School next year and want to try out as a running back.

40 yard dash time: 5.32 (kinda slow)

YPC(yards per carrry): 8

Other Sports: Wrestling and Track

I'm a pretty good catcher but drop the ball sometimes.

What else do I need to do to get ready.

  3. At that height and weight you're going to need some more speed to run around people since you probably won't be running them over.  As a freshman it's not likely that you'll be competing for serious playing time so you'll have at least a year to work on speed and muscle mass.  A growth spurt or 2 wouldn't hurt either.

  4. Use your freshman year as a training year cause more than likely you are not going to get that much playing time. Keep running and lifting weights. Also drink alot of water and get good amounts of sleep. You are at that age where you are about to start growing. You are going to get tall and bigger but keep working out and running to build up the correct type of muscle mass as well as to improve your speed.

  5. keep running track 100-400

    Lift weights

    practice with you friends

  6. Whoa, I'm 6ft 1 and 211 lbs, and I run my 40 at a 5.  You need muscle, lots of it.  Go get some barbells, and every other day, spend 20-30 min with them.

  7. Bigger faster taller.
