What do I need to do to add another name to my existing checking/savings account?

Can I do this without starting an all new account? and what will i/ or the other person need? does the other person need to be present?

  1. What you actually need to do is have the person come to the bank with you and have them bring to valid sources of identifications, e.g., Driver's license, social security, birth certificate, etc! Then it really depends, I think Bank of America requires you to have a credit check, all the other banks I have ever had don't require you to have a credit check! I hope this helps!

  3. Yes, that person needs to be there with two forms of ID. Talk to the banker at your bank. You should be able to add another person with no problems
