I have nearly finished my first year in an Osteopathy degree and even though I fully intend to complete the course and qualify as an osteopath ina few years time, at the moment I would like to work as a massage therapist to earn some money. What do I need to do in order to work as a massuse legally? Do I need yet another qualification?

  1. Yes you would need to do another course, to be able to do it legally.

  2. In the UK, I'm pretty sure osteopathy is the only alternative treatment which requires a license.  So no, you don't need any qualifications to work as a masseuse in the UK.
