  1. well my brother is a sports agent so i have a pretty good idea of what happens.  firstly, you dont need amazing grades to be a sports agent. you need good ones but this isn't like becoming a brain surgeon.  secondly, you need to LOVE sports. your life revovles around them so you'd better like them.  next decide what sport you want to be an agent for. baseball? football? hockey? etc. also decide wether you want to be an agent for players, managers, or coaches.  as far as majors there are 3 main options. law, business, and sports managment.  whichever two you choose is up to you and then you can minor in the 3rd.  same goes for your degree.  yes they generally need to go to law school. after that to actually get the job there are sport agent firms. like law firms. keep in mind it is VERY hard to earn jobs at the few of these that there are. you will need straight A's all through college and law school. after that the firm finds you client and you interview them and they interview you and together you decide wether you would like to work together. keep in mind that you dont go  straight to the big guys like A-ROD and Derek Jeter. you start at the rookies and hopefully the end up stars and the keep you as their agent.  good luck with everything. and by the way my brother's main client is just a semi-famous hockey star and a minor league goalie and he still brings in $800,000 a year. so good choice.

  2. my guess is that connections are the gonna be the biggest factor for someone who chooses to go into this line of work. in other words networking i wish you the best!
