My mother has misplaced my Birth Certificate AND my S.S card. What do I need to do in order to get a state I.D card?

  1. contact the office of vital statistics in the state where you were born and get a copy of your birth certificate then go to your local social security office and get a new card. the birth certificate will cost a few dollars but it's worth it.

    It's best to always have a copy kept in a safe place


  2. go to the DMV, it's normally five dollars. You have to bring all types of ID you have, permit, school ID, past IDs, passport... something with your signature... and something with your photo and your name (not a family photo) bring more than five dollars (just in case... the state I live in is unfortunately full of broke drunk homeless hicks)

  3. dmv may have a copy! call them...
