What do I need to do to live in Puerto Rico?

Question

I live in the US and I'm seriously thinking about moving to Puerto Rico. What all would I need to do?

I figured I would need a working visa, and then I would be able to find some type of job. Is this all I would need?

Anyone have helpful advise that lives in Puerto Rico, or has lived there.

No if you are a US citizen, then you can just get on a plane & come. But do you have a home business or money to live off or are you retiring?? Becuase let me tell you jobs are hard to come by in PR. Thats why there are about as many puertoricans living in the US as in PR. Otherwise its a wonderful place. But I suggest visiting first to get a feel for it & then decide. & spanish would def help.

Yes puerto rico is a country but since it is part of the U.S. you do not need a visa. to work there. Puerto rico is a very packed island that is roughly 100 by 30 miles yet has 4 million people living there so jobs are not the easiest to come by on the island so I hope that you do have a good college education. The biggest isssue is that you have to learn how to speak spanish. If you go there and you are speaking english you will stand out like a sore thumb and you will be nothing but one of those cruise ship tourists pina colada downing souvenir hogging GRINGOS to the puerto Rican people. Also pick wisely where you live. Remeber that puerto rican houses also differ quite a bit from american houses.

well first u have to find a job get a place to live than pack and move but if i was u i wont move to puerto rico i have 1 y ear here and there is no life no job puerto rico is good only to travel for a week or two im dieing to leave

Nope... no work visa needed... it's just like moving to Iowa or Texas... for your purposes, it's just like moving to another State.

If you plan to WORK there... you need to speak Spanish... and don't wait until you get there to learn it.
