Question:

What do I need to do to move to York, UK?

Have my heart set on going up there but what about jobs, places to rent etc? Don;t have much money at the minute though. All suggestions welcome.

  3. First thing you need to know is that,

    York is in England,

    The UK is England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland altogether,

    Are you one of these people who only calls England, the UK?

    That search engine should be good, You might be able to order the York daily paper to your home country, Will have pleanty of jobs/flats to rent in there.

  7. York is a very beautiful place to live and expensive to boot!

    Try moving close by and starting to make your way up to York.

    Try Knaresborough, Wetherby, Ripon or Harrogate, they're close by and far more accessable in terms of affordability and employment. Commuting is very easy too.

    Once you get to know a few things then see about moving there again.

  8. Are you currently living in council property? If so you can apply to exchange.if not still apply to york council who will put you on the waiting list,however that could take years b4 your offered anything.save some money up to rent privately,find somewhere to rent and search for a job once your there.am sure something will come up if your experienced in a particular job.also look into a house share if your single without children? That would be much cheaper and save lots of cash untill you find work.

  9. i live in york! :) its good!! stay away from areas such as bellfarm and burnholme. but yeh its all good :D and the nightlife is good too

    york is quaint, historical and nice - and very expensive!! so you will need lots of money haha

    EDIT: no one else took offense to the UK part, i think ;-) saying York, UK is fine.
