What equipment do i need to get from Time Warner to accomplish this? Also, will I need to sign up for any additional services??

  1. Ok I apologize some people have given you false information.

Speak with your landlord, have your landlord call for you unless he/she does not mind providing you with the acct # or ss# to access the acct yourself.

Hbo and cinemax- YOU NEED DIGI. we are starting to phase out and trap hbo for non digi subscribers. Normal price per premium channel is 14.00 a month.. (just a hint the more premium channels added the more of a discount you recieve) example just hbo is 14.00 a month but adding hbo and cinemax will upgrade you to DGP2000 which then will discount the channels from 14 a piece to for example 10 a piece...

Dvr service- depending on what other svcs you have it could be around 6.95 to 9.95

if you have all 3 svcs the price of dvr svc will be 6.95 if you have rr and digi the price of the dvr svc would be 9.95 and the price of the additional box will 7.15 so remember  its not JUST going to be 6.95 or 9.95 but it will also be another 7.15 for the additional box there is the price of the converter and then the price of the dvr svc itself.

So basically lets say dvr svc is 9.95 and the conv box per month is 7.15 if youve got hbo and cinemax already then that should be it.. but if not your looking on about 40 dollars per month.. roughly.. I work for the time warner cable division in albany.. but this is a rough idea of what you would be looking for.. good luck~

  2. Your cable access is being paid for by your roommate.  So, offer to pay them the difference in cost the Cable Company will charge him to rent you the DVR and extra channels.

  3. Ok. To get a DVR from the Time Warner company you NEED to have digital cable. You could keep Time Warner's basic package and get a TiVo though (thats what i do).

I think that Showtime and Cinemax are just movie channels, i dont think it means you have digital cable.

Call Time Warner and tell them you want to upgrade to digital and get a DVR box from them.
