What do I need to get into BIG 4 accounting company in NY?

As the question says, what special skills do i need to be an accountant in NY?

Another question is how IT can be useful relating to accounting company, because I have a few years of IT experinece

You can do a lot with IT in accounting.  You could work in Auditing on the IT side of things! They always need more people.  I would start by doing an internship with one of the Big 4 and see where that takes you.  If you are in school, go through your career services center, and if you are a minority, you can go through minority retention programs like INROADS.

Well IT can be useful because in order to audit a company's computer systems you have to know how they work first.  It helps to know what's going on with the system to further understand the walk-through.
