She is 10 months old, weighs 65 lbs and is a black lab. And is there any other information that I will need to know for when crossing? Any tips?

  1. Have all her vaccination papers with you, and a letter from your vet identifying your dog and verifying she's in good health is a good idea. They don't usually check but they could. I don't know what the rules are now, but one time when I was crossing into the US, they took away my dry dog food because it had beef(mad cow disease risk, you know) so it wouldn't hurt to check, and maybe switch to a fish-based dry food ahead of time so there'll be no issue with that.

  2. You will need a letter from a vet describing your dog and stating that she is in good health, and you will need a certificate (not just the tags) indicating that she has been vaccinated against rabies.  The certificate from the vet must indicate the kind of rabies vaccination she had, as there are different kinds that are effective for different periods of time.  That's all that is required.

  3. a car

  4. by declaring your dog at the border and following the rules for border safety in the link below.

  5. Just put her in the car and drive her there. Make sure she gets plenty of water on the journey and frequent stops. There is no quarantine between the US and Canada. If you're flying into Canada from another country there will be many regulations and charges, of course.
