  1. you can cross the border almost with no problem, but it's getting back in that's a problem,  make sure you have their immunizations up to date and also a notarized letter from their father if you are not married their to their father.

  2. You MUST have apassport to FLY to Mexico...no exceptions.  You do NOT need a pasport to travel to Mexico by LAND yet.  That requirement will not go into effect until after summer of 2008. See website below and read the top half of the page for the NEW announcement.  these requirements are the same for ALL ages, newborn and up.  to travel by land you need photo I.d. and certified birth certificate.  Children traveling with only one parent must have a letter of permission from the other parent, signed and notarized.  You will not be allowed to take them out of the country without this.

  3. Im not any help but I was wondering the same thing Im actually moving to Mexico and I have no Idea what I need to Cross the Border! But if you get some answers Please let me know! Thanx!

  4. * As of January 23, 2007, ALL persons*, including U.S. citizens, traveling by air between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda will be required to present a valid passport, Air NEXUS card, or U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Document.

        * As early as January 1, 2008, ALL persons*, including U.S. citizens, traveling between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda by land or sea (including ferries), may be required to present a valid passport or other documents as determined by the Department of Homeland Security. While recent legislative changes permit a later deadline, the Departments of State and Homeland Security are working to meet all requirements as soon as possible. Ample advance notice will be provided to enable the public to obtain passports or passport cards for land/sea entries.

*Lawful permanent residents (LPRs), refugees, and asylees will continue to be able to use their Alien Registration Card (Form I-551), issued by DHS, or other valid evidence of permanent residence status or refugee or asylee status to apply for entry to the United States.
