Ok, I've determined that I have a factory tow package and have located the factory connector under the dash for the brake controller to connect to. ( I do have a controller with the correct connector for this part.) There is a 4 wire connector at the rear

of the truck. What all do I need to do so I can change from the 4 wire connector to a 7 wire/round connector and have the correct brake control wiring? I don't see any brake control wires back there, do I need to run any new wires from front to back.?? Thank for your inputs.

  1. there is a ford kit that adds a bracket on the bumper, a 4-6 foot wire harness that connects farther up the vehicle, and a 7 pin female connector.

would i look cool if i gave you the part number for the kit?

  2. The other end of the wiring harness for the brake controller and charge circuit is located on the rearmost crossmember.  Its hard to find.  You may have to drop your spare tire.
