there are many kinds . but if you have an oil furnace , the # 1 tip i can give you is to change the filter regularly . like every 2 months . also get a yearly service done on it . mine usually costs 85 $ canadian , and the technician at that time lets me know how everything is . my furnace is 25 years old and we have had very few problems by doing this . hope this helps you .
