What do I need to know before going to college in the fall?

I will be attending UCSC this fall and am really excited. Should I know anything that is really crucial for me to know that I wish I would when I get there?

Jobs really do not care too much about extra curricular activities so do not kill yourself by stretching yourself too thin.

Be very open-minded and tolerant of people.  You will see people from all different countries, different beliefs, different social and political views...just be very respectful.

Pretty much anything you can get free you should try to get.

Most of all...have some fun!  College will go by WAY fast...yes, you are there for school first, but you are also there to mature and to enjoy life before it gets hard.
