  1. You can definitely read about things in psychology to learn more about it beforehand and you can volunteer with places that have a poor population or mental illness population to volunteer. Psychology is so broad so try to volunteer in the area of Psychology that you want as your field.Visit the library if you want to find more books. In high school, you can keep doing the same thing and try to volunteer more because it will fulfill your work credits as well as be something you are interested in. Then in college,l declare your major early on, find out the criteria to major within Psychology and go from there. You can get more info you need in college from an Advisor. Good Luck!!!!!

  2. i dont really kno sorry i just want the 10 points

  3. Keep an open mind, maybe you will end up a psychologist, therapist, psychiatrist, social worker or a counselor, depending on your choice of studies.  All of these people have the capacity to help others in similar ways.

Keep your grades at A's and B's, preferably mostly A's, so you can get into the college of your choice.  Pick a college that is renowned for their psychology curriculum.  Once you get to college, need to declare psychology as your major, take all the core psychology courses, then continue on to a Masters, and generally must complete a Ph.D. in psychology, to become licensed and practice, as a psychologist.

In high school course work should include mathematics, science, english and other general studies.  Psychology is science based, research data analysis, requires mathematical understanding, and finally english is necessary to write proper reports and research articles.

Also, research and explore either online or at a library, what area of psychology you want to specialize in, so you can guide your college studies in that direction.

Go see if you are able to work in a crisis center in your area or other mental health clinic as a volunteer or assistant.

Ask an area psychologist if they would meet with you to discuss this career.

Finally, in high school and college, try to help and be supportive of people who are either troubled or have problems, in the form of giving good advice.  If you don't know what to do, then know the resource that will help them.

  4. There's nothing wrong with wanting to know early.  It's awesome that you know what you want to do in life.  I am not sure that there is anything specific you need to do now, aside from doing your best in school to have the highest GPA possible, as that will be a factor down the road when you are entering college and trying to get financial aid.

There is a website about psychology careers and college paths with more info:  http://psyccareers.apa.org/.
