What do I need to know to get a good laptop? ?

I see a lot of sales right now but what do I need to watch? The memory or hard drive , what's the important thing to get a good laptop?

Figure out what you plan to do with it. If you want to simple work with word or excel docs and surf then a simple laptop will do. but I would go with a larger harddrive and more ram. If you want gaming, I would look at a better video card and more harddrive space. For movies and video editing I would look at video card, ram, and harddrive space.

First of all, u'll have to read reviews and compare, it's not about ram or hard drive or even speed as it is about the quality and reliability of that laptop these days, because most of them are crappy made and cheap.

Here's how to start, if u need a laptop for school or work any thin and light one will do, it needs to be the lightest u can find and u need to check about its battery, its the biggest deal here, dont look at anything has less than 3 hours battery life. Compare all these things with the computer's specification and price tag. Apple Macbook pro, Macbook Air, Asus, hp, dell xps, sony and msi are the best to start with. Good luck :)

well if you save a lot of stuff like music and videos then i recommend hard drive. If you do a lot of things at once like music, internet, word proccessing, then you need memory. I would get 2gb of memory or more as a minimum and for hard drive if you aren't a diehard music lover like me then anything above 80gb will be good. The proccesor is also a big thing too. Don't get celeron or sempron proccesors only AMD 64x2 or core 2 duo. Don't skimp on those because cheap processors heat up and burn your lap or they hurt other components by making them work harder. No compaqs, gateways, or emachines. HP, dell, and apple are some good ones that i have used. I'm not sure about lenovo though.
