I live in MI and would like to start my own daycare. What sort of license or certification do I need. I already have a B.A. in Pysch and am debating going back for my Early Childhood Ed. IF I did that could I run a pre-school instead? whats the difference between a daycare and a pre-school? What could I get expected to get paid in BOTH posistions? What ever info anyone could give me regarding both preschool and daycares, from parents, teacher, and business owners would be great!

  1. have a lot of worm milk for babys

  2. I found some links about the licensing you would need in Michigan. Also some other helpful links.

    Best of luck.

ps. Pre-school is normally for children about to enter kindergarten. Most parents would like an actual Teacher present in a preschool classroom. However, you can have a pre-school in a daycare center.

  3. You need to go to your local Human Services office and get a licence to watch kids.Pre-school would require you to have an established curriculum, an education schedule, if you will. A daycare isn't usually expected to get too involved in education.

  4. The laws would be the main thing.

It's tricky when it comes down to a parent and thier kids.

  5. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daycare

  6. You need to first:

1-contact the health department and the state in which you live, for rules and regulations on owning and what is nesscary to start a daycare.

    2-Go on from there.

  7. Well I'm not that educated to know this well but the difference between daycare and preschool is that in daycare you just watch them, and you aren't really liscenced to teach them much. You need to know the state or city law of holding up a daycare, because there is a limit as to how many kids you can watch at a time...

  8. I own a licensed child care in NC. I would advise you to contact your county's child care resource and referral service. They should have a professional to assist you in whatever information you need to know about getting started and free of charge. They will give you every detail on what you need to do and what direction you should look towards on what kind of child care/preschool setting you prefer. Good Luck!
