What do I need to load The Sims 2 Apartment Life?

I have purchased this game on a disk, but I can't seem to get it to load. My CD-ROM drive does not recognize this disk. It will recognize other disks, even other Sims disks. Is there something I need to download?

Well to load this game you need a DVD Drive not CD Rom drive!!

are  you sure  you have a dvd drive and not a cd rom drive ?

if thats  not the case and the game is on cd  or you do have a dvd player

return it to the  store with al due haste

it should work normally  and just show up  in my computer
