  2. It is not worth the effort. buy ready made. They are not easy to make, you need plugs for each end, an expensive crimping tool, and a CAT5 cable tester to be sure it will work. I have seen professionals get through 4 plugs to make up one end at times.

  3. CAT 5 or 5E cable

At least two RJ 45 connectors - probably more seeing this is your first time.:)

A sharp knife or cable cutting tool.

    A connector crimper.

    Network cable tester

You can make two kinds of connecting cable a) straight through - for connecting computer to computer. b) cross-over cable for connecting computer to router, switch, connecting box, etc.

If you insist on going through with this, you will need instructions on how - especially the order of the colored cables.

Or, you can do what I do - buy them at tigerdirect.com - cheap and far less headache. :)

  4. CAT5e cable, 2 x RJ45 plugs, Crimp tool

    or

    Buy one from the shop

  5. go to instructables.com and look for the thing you are trying to make and there might be some instructions people posted on the website

the website is cool i use it all the time and now myy room is literaly full of inventions well not realy inventions since other people made em first lol

  6. build one from your pet rock.

  7. You need to buy CAT5 twisted pair cable. Also, two RJ-45 connectors, and a RJ-45 modular crimping tool.

See here how to make the wiring: http://meteo.milliflora.com/images/met_i...

  8. you need however many feet of CAT5 network cable and two RJ 45 connectors.

You'll also need a crimping tool that can attach the individual wires in the CAT5 cable to the pins in the connectors.

You must also be VERY careful to line up the wires correctly.  There are eight individual wires inside the CAT5 cable.

Trust me, unless you are making a bunch of them, it really isn't worth it.

  9. You need the cable, the crimper and the plastic clips. They have to be in the correct order on both ends to work.

  10. i would think you would probably need network cable.
