In U.S. do I need a drivers license, residents card, utility bill or anything like that to open a bank account?

All I have is a passport, I'm not a resident of any state, I don't have any bills, no drivers license. Do I need any other documentation than a passport or one piece of photo I.D. to open a bank account in US. preferably with HSBC.

  1. If you are older then 18 years old, then you should have a problem.

You will need a residents card, along with other papers.

  2. sorry looks like i was wrong first time. this was on the list when starting the online application:

"If a non-US citizen, you will need your Resident Alien Card (Green Card) or complete passport information."

you should be fine with only your passport. dont worry about bills i started an account without any bills
