What do I need to start skateboarding?

Question

I'm a complete beginner. What else do you need beside a deck ?

What kind of brands do you recommend for the equipment needed to start ?

Is this deck something decent ?

I recommend you to get a fake skateboard first and skate where there is not alot of people. And then maybe get some pads.

alright. you need a deck, trucks, bearings, wheels, and hardware. and a skate tool. i have been skaing since i was about 6 and im 14 now. ive been through a lot of equipment and right now i like chocolate decks, thunder or destructo trucks, bones swiss bearings, bones wheels, and shortys hardware. hope this helps

I suggest that you buy a complete skateboarding set from hibbets sports. They have a brand called maple, and its not a name brand but it is better than the Wal-Mart fake boards. This is what a started on and a would say i turned out decent, and another thing is that these boards only cost about 40$.

just buy a complete board.  It'll come with a deck, trucks, bearings, and wheels.  then just buy a pair of shoes. that's all you need
