Question:

What do I need to start wakeboarding?

I know I need a tower but I could've sworn I've seen just poles on the back of peoples boats to help give some air. I don't want to spend $1000's when I'm not sure I'm any good.

  1. how about a friend with all the stuff. just kick in cash every time you take a turn. LOL  there are after market high pylons called skylon. they attach somehow with straps and maybe even a little drilling involved. can purchase from overtons or barts online sites. while you don't have to have one to wakeboard it certianlly makes it easier to get up and also to get more air. seems the sport has so many different products available just depends on what type of riding you do.

  2. a board that fits, a good sized rope, a 8cc boat, a good driver, and an instructer cause u can break a leg if u do it wrong

  3. board, rope, boat, with ballasts and a tower, runs 80,000,  driver, skill. ha ha that'd be the perfect set up...

  4. you don't need a tower.  just a wakeboard, rope, and a boat

  5. wakeord rope boat

  6. You don't have to have a tower or a high pole to get started. Any boat is fine. Getting air is easier with a tower/pole as the pull point is higher, but you really won't notice a huge difference till you start to jump the wakes.

for a great place to buy stuff. check out www.ewake.com.au or to check out some awesome boats go to www.supraboats.com.au

  7. basically you just need a board and bindings, and if someone else has a boat you could use, that would be great, but before buying a board and bindings, i would suggest trying them, because there is no use in buying a board set up that you may have to pay hundreds of dollars on, and not like it.
