Question:

What do I need to tow my car?

I have a truck, and a trailer with ramps. I have two comealongs (and a possible third tomorrow).

I'm towing a mitsubishi Starion (88). The car is just under 69 inches wide, and the trailer is a whopping 72 inches wide.. so it's going to be a VERY tight fit in the first place.

  1. You can't tie the car down with come-alongs.  Tie it with ratcheting straps or a chain binder.

  2. If the car runs you won't need the come-alongs.  Just drive it on and crawl out the window. Been there, done that. Be sure you tie the axles down real good. Ratcheting type tie downs are essential. Have them pulling in opposition at front and rear so it can't move in either direction.  Having that sucker come loose while you're towing is a real bummer. Hopefully it runs. Pulling it up with come-alongs ain't no fun.
