I purchased an an electronic item from England to be used over here in the United States. Would I need some kind of voltage converter before using this product? Would it even work without one assuming I had the adapter and plugged it straight into an American receptacle? Thanks!

  1. It all depends on the appliance.

Look at the back. If it says 100-220V AC, then it can work in the US with just a simple plug adaptor. (Common: electric razors, laptops, phones, etc.)

If it says, 220V X Amps or Y Watts, you need to buy a 220 to 100V power converter rated  Y Watts or (220*X Amps= Y Watts).

  2. you need to get a converter, you can probably find then at a place like walmart
