Question:

What do I need to work in New Zealand?

I already have a job offer to work in a bar/restaurant near ChristChurch, but they want me there within a month. All I have right now is a passport. I may stay for a year or two (who knows, maybe 6 months???) so I don't think the working holiday visa is what I need. Any suggestions for what I should be getting for a visa? Would it help to have the owners of the restaurant write a letter for me? Do you think it's possible to get this together within a month's time? Thanks for your help.

    Temporary work

We grant temporary work visas and permits to people who have a job offer from a New Zealand employer, people skilled in occupations that are in demand here, people coming here for a particular purpose or event, and people who want to gain work experience or work after studying in New Zealand.

  3. You need to contact the New Zealand embassy and apply for a work visa, it may be less than 2 years but you can get it extended.
