What do I need to work in a Turkish tourist resort during a summer?

Question

For example as entertainer of Animation in Hotels. I'd like to work as an animator (I don't know if it's correct, I don't know the name in english but in Spanish it's "Animador turístico") in a turkish resort like Bodrum during a summer.

Do I need to speak Turkish? Are just english and spanish enough?

I would like to live sometime in Turkey, but I'm not interested to spend long time out of Spain, where I am from, and nevertheless, I don't speak Turkish!!! I only can say "Merhaba", "Tekserum Ederim", "Gunaydim", "Güle Güle" but I guess it's not enough to manage between the average turkish people, that is what I want.

There are no turkish teachers in Zaragoza where I live now, so maybe I have to move to Madrid or Barcelona, but that's not on my list.

I think you should target some resorts, call their managers and ask in advance when and how they employ people. I believe being proactive is the key.

I went out shopping the day before in Marmaris and most sales people (mostly women) were foreigners.

yo Salva, man congrats for your Euro c'ship. I whole heartedly supported Espana and, well, right from the beginning it was visible that u were gonna win.

The answer for your question is yes. U can work as an animator (or as we call in Turkish animatör) in Turkey without speaking Turkish. U'd have found a job with a 100% possibility if you spoke Russian or maybe German tho. Bodrum is kind of like a miniature version of Ibiza. Hotels which demand animators are too many in Antalya and Kemer where Russians are ample. I'd say, send CVs to hotels' websites. Tho i highly doubt that they review those CVs throughly

There are lot of hotels in Turkey that just serve foreigners (or rich Turks with that manner) and most of their workers are non-Turkish speakers. I am definete that there are different companies that arrange those kinds of employement positions. Try to check with the tourism schools in Zaragoza and ask for their exchange programs. Or try to send you CV to hotel chains in Meditterranian countries like Club Med or something

Ya  fui de vacaciones en Bodrum y Kusadasi, y la verdad no vi nadie que sepa del idioma espanol. (si hay, pero es muy dificil encontrarlos)

En general, turcos pueden hablar ingles, o aleman, y a veces tambien frances.

Ya que sabes ingles, entonces no tendras ningun problema.

Pero creo que seria buena idea aprender por lo menos algo de aleman,frances o ruso.

De todas formas, si tienes alguna experiencia en el sector del turismo, creo que puedes por lo menos mandar tu curicullum a algunos clubs o hoteles, y quizas te llamen luego por una entrevista...

If you have a diplome in tourism field, some sales/marketing experience, knowledge in at least 2 european languages (which you have : english and spanish), and communication skills, then I guess it won't be complicated...

And I suppose there will be more and more spanish tourists (and all the other spanish speaking tourists ), so you may have great chances to get a job...
