What do I pack!! HELP?

I am going on vacation in 8 days, and I don't know what all to pack. I know the necessities, but not the other stuff. HELP

You leave a person with more questions then you ask.  Where are you going?  How long?  Flying?  Driving?

If heading someplace cold, heavy winter clothes.  If someplace hot, light clothes.  If two days, two pairs of underwear, 2 outfits.  If two months,  six pairs of underwear and 4 outfits (can always get the stuff washed).  If flying check out the liquids restrictions and think about buying the necessities when you get there.  If driving you can overpack and take your complete bedroom dresser.  

The things not to pack are "I don't wear it at home but I might wear it while I'm on vacation."  Shoes take up the most room so take one pair of comfortable all around shoes and don't forget the shoes you will be wearing during the flight/drive.
