  1. a lot of times when there is a delivery charge that means the delivery person it's making like... less then squat.  and usually they don't get any compensation for mileage.  what's an extra couple bucks for you?  good tips really make peoples day.  be generous :)

  2. Your first mistake is ordering from Papa John's!  Ugh.

But no matter the "deliver fee", the delivery driver is still delivering to you so tip the driver 10%.  If you were in a restaurant, 15-20% would be appropriate since they also have to clean up after you.

  3. tip according to service, 10 to 20 percent of the bill, minus the delivery fee.

  4. I used to deliever pizza while I was in High School. I used to HATE not getting any tips, but only cause I wasn't making squat. Expecially if you were busy and backed up and the only driver that day.

Be curtious. If they deliver on time and have the order correct, then by all means... TIP'EM!!!

    I'd say atleast 10%.

  5. the fee, at least at this point is for gas, but 10% or more should do it

  6. The delivery driver gets an hourly wage and cash for each delivery made, so it depends on how friendly the person is, how large the order is, if my food is hot, order is correct, and the weather condition that he/she is driving in. I tip 10-15% before taxes generally.

I don't tip depending on how fast they get to my place, because they do not make the pizza. If it is busy they still have to wait for someone else to make then give them the pizza to deliver.

  7. Most pizza places charge for delivery.

  8. 15% or $2 minimum. The driver won't get the delivery fee, the store keeps it. Most of the drivers paycheck goes directly to pay for their gas. With gas costing almost $4 a gallon, drivers need all the help they can get.

If nobody tipped the drivers then pizza places would stop offering delivery because they can't afford to pay their drivers $15 an hour and still sell pizzas for $10 each. It is assumed that if you are requesting the service then you should be willing to pay more to recieve it.

  9. Here is how the delivery charge works. The store has to pay 11 to 16% royalty on the delivery charge according to the franchise agreement. The driver gets between 35 cents and 1 dollar depending on the size of the delivery area, as the delivery area gets larger the delivery fee goes up and so does the amount that the driver receives for reimbursement. The average tip that most of my drivers get is $1.25 per Pizza delivered. But always remember tip according to the personality of the driver, is he/she happy to see you, makes eye contact or does he/she seem colder than that pizza that just took an hour and fifteen minutes to get to you from 4 miles away.

  10. at least 10-15% additional, you should tip 20% gas is a lot and nothing feels as good as a good tip, you cal make someones day

  11. Yes you should. You can pay him depending how fast he delivers. If he comes by pretty fast, pay him a good tip. But if it takes him forty-five minutes or an hour just to deliver the pizza when the restaurant is nearby, then don't tip him as well.

  12. I wouldn't tip them at all if there is a delivery fee.  Remember, the company is paying the driver, not you!

  13. Delivery charge does NOT go to the driver.  It's kinda like an extra tax the pizza place uses for having someone leave the restaurant to take pizza to your house.  The charge does NOT cover gas or even go the the driver's paycheck.  The charge just goes into the company's bank account.

  14. I normally do 5 for fifteen and then figure from there but it depends too if the food gets there ealier then you think and seems fresh and the person is friendly base the tip on that too,.

  15. The 1.50 delivery charge normally does not go to the driver. they work on a very low rate pr hour and depend on TIPS.

I usually tip 10-12% on total bill excluding the delivery charge.
