  1. Domain Name System, Internet system to translate names into IP addresses. You need the DNS or URL to your internet provider.

  2. DNS is Domain Name Service. This is the generic error when the DNS is not set right. Ther are a lot of way that it could be set not right.

one is there is no number there at all. Or The number is wrong.  When you are on a home network, like yours, the DNS is a number of the form, x*x.x*x.x*x.x*x.  On The machine I am useing at I type this; 172.168.1.5. 1st,octet, 2nd octet, 3rd octet and the last set or 4th octet. 172., 168, 1 and lst is 5.  The numbers.

Can you put a IP address number in your PSP?  Does It have one already?  Does It have the wrong one?  On your Desk top computer, on the network settings, there is a DNS number.  Look it up. That is your correct number for your network at you house.  If the desk top machine is connected to the internet then it has a DNS number.Should be same on the PSP.  Away from your home is a different story.  But I would make a guess that 192.168.1.1 is a good number for your network.

Look at you desk top computer it has the DNS number that you need.

    at the command prompt on a PC type the letters " i p c o n f i g".  This will show the DNS number.Funny you should ask but on a desktop Linux system  the bash prompt command is ; "i f c o n  f  i  g".

    Good Luck, hope this helps.

  3. Your psp should automatically get the ip address from your wireless router. Make sure it is set to automatically on the ip preference. If it is correct, check your router to make sure that the settings are correct. This is how i have my psp setup with my wireless network.
