What do I put on my FAFSA..PLEASE HELP!

So, in the taxes section on my fafsa where I have to put my income..I dont make any, but my husband does. He made 40,000 even last year, but on our tax return it only says like 14,000 because he is military and there is a lot of tax free stuff. Which do I put?

  1. You have to put what he makes gross not net.  I have the same problem with my sons and I have 3 going to college.  it is so unfair.  One is even divorced.


  2. His wages = Box #1 of his W-2  (federal taxable wages)

  3. In the parenthesis of the question it should tell you exactly where to look on your tax return. eg if you filed a 1040A it would say line __. Just put exactly what it says.
