I'm a few weeks away from being 17 and I'm a senior but I'm going to be taking all of my classes this year at the college. I have absolutely no job experience or volunteer experience. It's seriously time for me to get a job and the places that I want to apply all require resumes but I don't know what to put on it! I already googled templates and samples but It didn't really help because it's all about experience. Any suggestions on what I should put on it?

  1. It's ok to have an empty resume when you are young without experience.

    Do something like.

    Name

    Contact Info

OBJECTIVE (don't do this when you get older and more experienced)

To obtain a challenging position where I can utilize my skills at (fill in skills here related to the position applying for)

    EDUCATION

Put your high school name and address

    Years of attendance

    GPA

    Any Honors/Academic Achievements

    SKILLS

Put down any computer skills, clerical, mechanical skills here (anything that would help you get a job and best to put those skills that apply to the job you are applying for).

LONG TERM GOAL (To graduate with a blah blah degree from college).

  2. Since you're young no one will expect you to have a lot. Put down interests and anything that may be applicable to what you are applying for. In an interview talk about how quickly you can pick up new concepts and are willing to try new things, give real life examples if possible. This will help make up for lack of experience.

  3. The easiest answer to this question is: "Whatever you want a potential employer to know."

  4. I would make up experience, like babysitting, or house sitting or housecleaning and get all of ur details straight in your head about your fictional jobs so if they ask questions you have answers. If they ask for references ask friends or relatives to act as references.

Or get a job like that or volunteer first so you have something to write.

If you don't want to lie focus a lot on the educational aspect of your resume, stating that you received honors in certain classes if you did or something of that sort.

  5. Put an objective paragraph as to why you are seeking employment and/or what you are seeking.  List your education and location and also use a summary paragraph.  Make sure you say you're a student desiring to enter the workforce.  Also, if you have ANYONE who would vouch for you doing yard work, babysitting, etc...use them.   Just put landscaping, childcare, personal assistant...something to show you've been active somewhere.  Did you do errands for anyone?  Personal assistant can be a variety of things and you can just ad lib on it if asked.  Mainly, let the person know that you are using them for that reference and for what. Find a profession al sounding word to use.  Does a family member have a business that you can put for sweeping up, emptying trash?  "Business maintenance"  Find a resume style that you like and use it.   Not all of them have to be exactly like what you see.Good luck to you and hope this helps. Try looking at the one I've put below on the link

  6. ur still young.. u dont need much

  7. download a resume template offline :)

  8. Always go with the truth I have learned that one lie begets another. If questioned about exp.of vol. work just say that you have not found anything that you can truly dedicate yourself to but you are open to suggestions. Just show a willingness.
