We are having a party for my future brother in law during my sisters bridal shower. So its kind of like a grooms shower for him. We want to serve Italian sausage in a red sauce and then burgers and hot dogs on the grill. The party is all men and we do not know what to serve as side dishes. It cant be too fancy or too complex because thats not what we want. Please help, the party is on Sunday!

  1. a stripper?

no seriously though--- german potato salad.

  2. potato salad macaroni salad egg delivled

  3. Potato or Pasta or Lettuce Salad

    Corn on the Cob

Fried Potatoes, or cook on the grill in foil

  4. Some sort of pasta or macaroni.

    Potato salad.

    Garden salad.

    Dill pickles.

    Veggie platter.

    Cheese platter.

    Radishes.

We serve a lot of stuff at our parties. These are just a few things we serve.

  5. Go to the deli at your local grocery store and get a couple of pounds of potato salad and cole slaw. If you feel ambitious put ears of corn on the grill and have plenty of melted butter ready.

  6. salad or beans

  7. You should probably consider having one hot & one cold: one pasta (hot) and one potato sald or macaroni salad (cold)

    For the pasta -

    1. use the same red sauce from the sausage & peppers for the pasta, sprinkle with a generous portion of parmesan cheese.

    2. Make an alfredo sauce (or buy it in the refrigerated section) but don't use fettuccini noodles. They're a lot harder to keep from going mushy on a buffet. Instead use a sturdier pasta like penne or a ziti, that will hold their shape and their "tooth". Sprinkle with fresh parsley and parmesan.

    The potato salad:

    1. A baked potato salad would be delish & is easy. Bake 5 lbs of red potatoes. Cool. Leave skin on and cut into bite size pieces. Mix mayo, green onion, cider vinegar, a touch of mustard and some salt & pepper (tsp of garlic powder, optional).  Amounts will vary depending on potatoes used and how many. Some people like to mix a bag of shredded cheddar cheese to the potato salad but I've found it doesn't paricularly add to the flavor. Either way, the key is to mix dressing seperately to avoid having to over-mix the potatoes (which would cause them to break apart).

    The macaroni salad:

If two pastas doesn't bother you, a big hit with my family is a cold, Mexican pasta salad. Has just a kick of heat & is a definite "guy" food.

1 lb shell macaroni or other shape

1 jar prepared salsa (large. jar, med. heat)

    1 bunch green onion chopped

    1 tsp garlic powder

    1 cup (or more) mayo

    2 cups shredded mexican cheese

Mix all together - tastes better tomorrow!
