  1. I second the notion for toothpaste, use an old toothbrush you want to get rid of.

As an alternative, you can make a paste of salt and lemon juice. The juice will get the tarnish off your ring and the salt will scrub out the junk you've got in there that is causing the smell. Again, use an old toothbrush to apply.

  2. Hmmm, I just use Mr. Clean to clean my diamonds and gold. It's probably a silver plated ring. I would bring it to an independant jeweler, not Zales or Kay and have them replate it. They would give it a good cleaning and come back looking brand new. Good Luck. **By the way... I noticed users have posted suggestions to use toothpast. Don't use it. It's abbrasive and will wear down any metal you use it on. It also leaves a film on the surface kind of like on the rim of the cup you use to rinse after you brush your teeth.

  3. This may sound weird, but use toothpaste, and a toothbrush.  My husband has this stainless steel watch, and he paid alot of money for it, it doesn't fade like yours, but he keeps it clean with water, toothpaste.
