What do I wear to a chiefs ball?

I have just been invited? What would be appropriate to wear. A cocktail dress? Or an actual ball gown dress?

It is a formal occasion and you should wear an actual a ball gown dress.  There have been in the past an array of different dresses worn.  In the 2001 Chiefs ball it was mostly Black Dresses while the last one were glitzy and glamorous with Reds and White and Sparkles.  It may be wise to call "ahead" and see what the "theme" of the event is before you buy your gown.  Good luck and have a very good time!!!!!

The Chiefs Ball is considered a formal event by the Navy, and military spouses are required to wear formal, black-tie event attire.  So since your date will be wearing his Navy tux, a formal ballgown would be appropriate.  Have a good time!

It is a well know fact that Chiefs don't have balls.
