What do I wear to a date taking me to a fancy steakhouse?

We are going to Wildfire....what should I wear?

I've taken my wife to the Wildfire in the city and she's made me stop at the one in the burbs as well.  Either location  you would want to wear something casual...maybe a step below business casual.  As a guy, I usually fit in wearing a pair of jeans, a nice shirt (collar), a sports jacket and gym shoes.  I would definitely be overdressed if I wore a suit.

It's a nice restaurant, but not fancy as in jacket required fancy.  We've taken our four year old to eat there...they have a kid's menu.

Make sure you share a Chopped Salad, it rules.

I wouldnt dress to fancy cuz you know it is a steakhouse. But still dress nice and beautiful. But what I would wear is just a dress that isnt going to be too fancy and uncleanable if you get steaksauce on it! :)

Which location??  This matters.  The ones in the burbs, I would say to dress casual.  Most other patrons will not be dressing too stylish.  If you are heading to the one in downtown Chicago you can go either way.  Casual or dressy.  Dress for the date and the guy, if you like him that much.  check out the reviews online of the specific location.

My first time there I thought it was a super duper nice steak house.  It's expensive, but, in comparison to other steak houses, it's not the most expensive.  Many people go plain casual.

P.S.  Wildfire is NOT Outback steak house.  If you had asked should you dress nice for Outback.. heck no!  A dinner for two at Wildfire can easily go over $100 with dinner and dessert.  Add in a few cocktails and now we're playing at $150+.
