I know the basics, underwear and a bra but I mean what else? Like shapewear or whatever?...

Its a halter floor length dress if that helps.

  1. If you need shapewear, then yes.  Hose are no longer a requirement (thank goodness) but you might need a long slip to keep the dress from going between your legs (unless it's lined)... however, many styles of dresses won't accomodate a slip.  Ask the bride if any other attendants have raised this question with her.

  2. That depends on your body. If you need a shaper then wear one, if you don't need one, then don't.

  3. It's all up to you.  If you want to wear shapewear you can, but you don't have to.  When I was a bridesmaid, I just wore a strapless bra and and normal underwear, nothing fancy or no extra expenses.  But if you want to thin out some spots, then maybe spanx?

  4. Backless bra, shape wear, stockings and a slip.

  5. It all depends on what you feel comfortable in. I know with me, floor length dresses tend to show to many curves so I like to wear a shape thingy. To help make me look a little tinier. Either wear a strapless bra or get those sticky type bras. Wearing the shape thing will help not to see underwear lines or anything.

  6. It depends on what you need. Try your dress on in front of a full length mirror and see if you have any problem areas. If there are some little bumps, take the dress with you when you go shopping for shapewear, because you want to make sure the undergarment won't show BEFORE you spend a lot of money on it. You don't have to wear anything besides a bra and underwear unless you really think you need it.
