Do they work in a constant hospital environment? Do they diagnose and treat patients? How much is their yearly income? Would it be considered a lot?

  2. Some internists work in hospitals all the time; they are more commonly known as hospitalists.  Others work in a regular medical office, and may subspecialize in a specific organ system, such as cardiology or nephrology.

    Yes, they diagnose and treat patients.  They are doctors!

    Yearly income varies, but is generally considered good.  They can make anywhere from $160K to $400K depending on subspecialty and location.
