  1. Stretching of your arms and fingers will help. Lifting weights (not too heavy) on each arms to activate your biceps. Stretch your arms to the back to strethen your triceps. Wriggle your fingers to loosen tension around your knuckles. At the end of work, soak hands in cold milk with few drops of pure lavender essential oil to relax the any soreness and tiredness. Massaging is not about using just your hands. It's about using your full body-weight so to prevent lesser injuries on localised areas such as fingers and knees.

  2. our hands do get tired and sore.

that just comes with the territory. but good body mechanics go a long way to help keep the stress on our bodies to a minimum. leaning into the technique and using our own body weight instead of trying to use the arm and shoulder strength is a must. keeping the joints stacked, in line, will help reduce wear-and-tare on the joints in the hands and arms. regular stretching of the wrists helps reduce the risk of carpel tunnel syndrome as well.

  3. Self massage is great, as well as receiving massage from others.

I use a lot of the force from my thighs and positioning, posture and that helps. As well as elbows and knuckles in the place of finger tips preserves the hands.

But somedays, my hands are sore after all of that.

  4. i make sure to use quite a bit of forearms and elbows as well, as to alleviate any stress on my hands and thumbs especially...to be honest, a manicure is about the only self help i use to heal my hands..keep my nails, short and clean, soft and they do a lot of hand massage during it, which feels incredible because a self massage just doesn't feel the same..i don't do any exercises or anything like that..massaging six or seven people a day is enough exercise for my hands... :) but that's just me personally..i love my job and i wouldn't have it any other way...

  5. In Oriental medical school, students learn a medical form of massage called tui-na. They are instructed to take a bag of rice and use the different techniques on the bag of rice until it was rice flour to strengthen their hands.
