  1. A belief in one G-d; nearly identical ethnic and religious cultures; similar dietary laws; veneration of Avraham/Abraham/Ibrahim as the founder of their line of descent; eastern Mediterranean  genetic markers; the use of Semitic language. And much more...

    Quite a lot, really. Unfortunately, it is those most alike that hate each other with the most ferocity. Look at Northern Ireland. Sad Stuff.

    And just so you know: Muslims and Christians consider Jerusalem "A" holy city among several (Rome, Mecca, Medina, Isfahan, Qom, Mr. Athos). For Jews, it is THE holy city, the holiest spot on the face of the Earth.


  2. They share a common heritage in Abraham. Except Jews decended from Isaac, the son of Abraham and Sara, while the Muslims decended from Ishmael, the son of Abraham and  Hagar. They also both consider Jerusalem to be their holy city.
